Working on behalf of the BBC, we sell advertising in the Proms Guide and Proms programme each year. The Proms is the world’s largest classical music festival and is held every year at the Royal Albert Hall, attracting more than 300,000 attendees.
We recently retained this account following a competitive tender, after a previous tenure of four years. During this time, we have cemented strong relationships with a broad set of advertisers across the arts and lifestyle sectors and have significantly increased both page yield and overall revenue significantly.
This is against a backdrop of arts funding being pulled and a sector that has faced very challenging times in a post-pandemic world.
As one of the UK’s best-known institutions, our work with BBC Proms has to be of the highest standard and as the only commercial opportunity available within the BBC portfolio, we follow rigorous protocols to ensure that we don’t misrepresent them in any way.
Revenue expectations for both products are very high and the associated volumes of advertisers are likewise, but our detailed approach and long-standing relationships ensure ongoing success.
