As Cabbells celebrates its 50th year in the arts and heritage community, there is no better time to lend our support to this valuable sector than by sponsoring an award at the prestigious Museums + Heritage Awards recently.
Strong marketing and brand awareness is at the heart of everything Cabbells does, and we were proud to sponsor the ‘Marketing and Communications Campaign of the Year 2026’ category.

At the ceremony, held at the Hilton Park Lane in London on Wednesday 13 May, the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge was crowned winner of this highly competitive category for the marketing and communications campaign around its ‘Made in Ancient Egypt’. The exhibition reveals the untold stories behind objects such as jewellery, ceramics, sculpture, Books of the Dead and more, highlighting the makers and technology behind these ancient artefacts.
The judges commented: “This campaign rose to the challenge with strategic clarity and creative confidence. By reframing ancient Egypt around its makers, and targeting 18-25 year olds as long-term visitors, it didn’t just sell tickets – it set the tone for a new chapter.”

Sarah Simpson, Managing Director of Cabbells, said: “We all know that museums, arts and heritage sites enrich our lives and make our environments happier and more fulfilling places to be, and the evening at the Museums + Heritage Awards was indeed a happy place to be. The annual gathering of such exceptional talent to celebrate all the incredible work from such a vast array of people is fantastic. It’s always a great reminder of just how good we are at what we do!”
The awards saw winners crowned in 18 categories, showcasing some of the best success stories from across the sector.
In her welcome address, Anna Preedy, Director of the Museums + Heritage Awards, said: “This night belongs to the people who open the doors every morning, who tell the stories that might otherwise be lost, who inspire curiosity in visitors of every age.
“In a world that sometimes feels increasingly divided, what you do matters more than ever. The work that is represented in this room is proof that museums and heritage organisations are bringing people together, reminding us of what we share – that is not a small thing, it is essential… The winners tonight [are] not just taking home an award; they [are] setting the standard, inspiring the next generation of projects and programmes across the entire sector.”
Congratulations to all the 2026 winners and nominees too – for more information on the winning entry in our sponsored category, please visit The Fitzwilliam Museum, and for all awards, M+H Awards.
